The main reason I am where I am…

Since I was eight months old, I have been traveling whenever given the opportunity. My multicultural upbringing, and encounters with people around the world, heavily influenced my decision to study communication. In May 2014, my side design projects and colleagues inspired me to start Hakim Creative, to provide clients with visual communication solutions in graphic and web design, photography, etc.

The main reason I am where I am…

I am a Turkish-born, South African-raised Korean-American. That combination instilled in me the value of being a world citizen, and a passion for travel. In my fortune of being able to travel far and wide, I realized very quickly the universality of visual communication, and its ability to transcend geographic and cultural boundaries.

Beyond my love of visual communications, I have a fondness for entrepreneurship. My mother is an entrepreneur herself – epitome of the American Dream. I have worked with social entrepreneurs and SME entrepreneurs around the world and supported them in bringing to life their dreams. And now, I feel lucky to have the opportunity to be a co-founder in this start-up, and to combine two of my biggest passions in life.
